On January 14, 2026, investigators in Thailand identified evidence suggesting a 6-year-old child was being sexually exploited and was linked to confirmed child sexual abuse material (CSAM). That evidence triggered an investigation to determine what had happened and how to rescue the child from further harm.

Working alongside Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) Thailand ICAC, law enforcement and Our Rescue teams reviewed digital evidence and confirmed approximately 500 CSAM files on devices tied to the case. Among that material, 20 files were directly linked to the 6-year-old survivor.

Once the facts were established, law enforcement teams moved from investigation to immediate intervention.

Operation Overtake brought together specialized units to execute a warrant and conduct a methodical search of the suspect’s residence. Our Rescue-sponsored Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9 Winner and his handler assisted with a full sweep of the property so investigators could account for every area. Two mobile devices were seized for forensic analysis.

Police then arrested the suspect and filed charges related to sexual assault of a child under 15, indecent acts against a child under 15, and computer-related offenses under the Computer Crime Act.

Our Rescue worked in collaboration with the survivor’s family and local partner M-Society throughout the case to support the child, including the filing of a police report by the parent and a family assessment conducted by M-Society. The assessment confirmed that the family can provide suitable care, and our support teams remain involved to monitor and assist the child.

Operations like this are about children who deserve safety and futures free from exploitation. They are about investigators, forensic specialists, and survivor care professionals collaborating so that evidence leads to protection and accountability.

Each rescue operation we support reinforces why our mission exists: to stand between vulnerable individuals and sexual abuse to ensure that children are seen, supported, and protected.
