In Thailand, a four-year-old girl was subjected to sexual exploitation and abuse by someone meant to protect her—her father. Cases like this often remain hidden, especially when abuse occurs inside the home, and fear or intimidation keeps the child from speaking out.

In response to a tip, local authorities launched Operation Nest, an operation led by Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children (TICAC) in partnership with M-Society and Our Rescue. Our team supported the operation alongside these partners to help ensure the child’s immediate safety and access to care.

During the operation, the 4-year-old child was removed from the situation immediately and transferred to a secure location. She was taken to a hospital for a medical examination, with the Child Protection Center serving as the primary caregiver throughout the process. She is currently under the protective care of both the Child Protection Center and the Family Center.

The father was arrested and initially charged with possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and sexual assault of a minor under the age of 18. Investigators conducted digital forensic examinations on two devices recovered during the operation with support from Our Rescue-sponsored ESD K9 Winner. One device was successfully accessed, revealing 339 CSAM files. A second device was protected by a passcode and could not be examined at that stage.

As of the second week in January, the suspect was formally charged with possession of CSAM. The medical examination did not reveal physical evidence consistent with sexual abuse; however, the child’s statement indicates that sexual assault occurred, and the case remains under further investigation.

Our Rescue will continue to work alongside trusted partners to prioritize the healing, care, and long-term support for the child.
