We are excited to announce that five new K9s have completed their specialized Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) training this month. These incredible dogs graduated from the program on November 15, bringing the total number of OUR Rescue sponsored ESD K9s worldwide to 110. This milestone was made possible through the generous support of OUR Rescue donors.

Trained by the experts at Jordan Detection K9, these remarkable dogs— Mac, Shebang, Mabel, Rosie, and Router —are now uniquely equipped to assist law enforcement in uncovering hidden electronic storage devices. Such devices are often used by predators to store illicit content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Using their keen sense of smell, these K9s can detect the chemical compounds found in devices like SD cards, tablets, and external hard drives, no matter how cleverly they’re concealed. Their role is invaluable: when traditional searches are unable to locate these tiny yet critical pieces of evidence, ESD K9s step in, ensuring no device is overlooked.

This graduation marks a significant step forward in the fight against child exploitation, as these K9s now begin their mission to aid investigators and bring offenders to justice.

The November ESD K9 graduates have been placed across the United States to support law enforcement officials in their important work:

  • Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (Arizona): Mac
  • Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (Virginia): Shebang
  • Ashland Police Department (Kentucky): Mabel
  • Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office (Georgia): Rosie
  • Yakima Police Department (Washington): Router
