In the early hours of a recent ride-along with the Riverside County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), also known as the Riverside County Child Exploitation Team (RCCET), detectives executed two search warrants in two different cities. Both investigations involved the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), commonly known as child pornography.

At each location, law enforcement seized electronic devices believed to contain evidence related to the cases. Initial findings confirmed the presence of CSAM on the devices, which have since been submitted for forensic digital examination. Both investigations remain ongoing, with additional analysis required to support prosecutorial efforts.

While operating in the area, investigators also conducted sex offender compliance checks. Two individuals were identified at separate locations. One individual was not home at the time of the check, while another was found to be in violation of annual registration requirements and was arrested.

This ride-along offered a brief look into the daily work of RCCET and the reality of how online exploitation investigations unfold on the ground.

In 2020, Our Rescue began partnering with RCCET to support these efforts by providing practical, targeted resources that strengthen law enforcement’s ability to investigate online crimes involving children. Since then, our partnership has focused on equipping investigators with digital tools, technology, and operational support to help identify offenders and preserve critical evidence. All in an effort to protect more children.

The partnership also includes operational support through Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9s. RCCET is currently equipped with two ESD K9s, Chewie and Solo, trained to locate concealed electronic storage devices during search operations that may contain crucial evidence. These K9s play a critical role in helping investigators uncover material that may otherwise go undetected.

RCCET’s consistent, proactive approach has contributed to arrests, accountability, and the identification of children in need of protection. Our Rescue continues to support this work through assistance shaped by real operational needs identified by law enforcement.

We are grateful for the men and women of RCCET who dedicate their expertise and time to this work and for the opportunity to witness a small part of the effort required to keep communities safe. Our Rescue remains committed to supporting partners on the front lines as they work to rescue real children and pursue justice.
