Stories like this appear far too often. A trusted adult sexually abuses a child. The abuse is recorded. The child sexual abuse material (CSAM), commonly known as child pornography, is stored or shared online. The child waits helplessly for intervention. Sometimes it comes. Sometimes it doesn’t.

The pattern repeats across countries and communities. Over time, an audience’s constant exposure to news of these cases can create a sense of distance or numbness. But at Our Rescue, we want to emphasize that behind every investigation is a real child whose life has been drastically devastated by sexual exploitation. These cases are not statistics or headlines. They are real children and real moments where rescue matters more than we can comprehend.

Operation Warp in Thailand is one of those moments. And in Thailand, it shook the media and audiences alike.

At the horror of anyone who knew him, a man in his mid-twenties living on temple grounds and working locally as a volunteer emergency rescue worker used his position of trust to secretly install hidden cameras inside a women’s bathroom used by others on the property. Not only was he allegedly recording women in that restroom, but he was also sexually abusing a child, filming it and posting it online.

In the early hours of February 24, 2026, the Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (TICAC) carried out Operation Warp with support from Our Rescue in Asia.

Officers searched the suspect’s residence and seized two mobile phones believed to have been used in the offences. Our Rescue’s Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9 Winner and his handler Bank assisted investigators as they searched the property for additional electronic devices.

Police later confirmed the suspect used his mobile phones to record and store the illegal CSAM he created.

Authorities charged the man with possession and distribution of CSAM and committing indecent acts towards a child. Meanwhile, investigators are continuing to examine additional crimes connected to the case.

Our Rescue provided digital forensics support, helping investigators extract evidence from the seized phones. The forensic review uncovered a large quantity of CSAM files and other digital evidence that is now the subject of further analysisand investigation by TICAC.

Investigators who identified the child from CSAM images established that the survivor and suspect lived in close proximity to each other. The authorities connected to this enquiry ensured the child was connected with government social workers from Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Our Rescue’s Survivor Care team supported the response and continues to remain in contact with the child’s family and local authorities to help ensure appropriate support is available.

Chillingly, investigators also discovered that many of the CSAM files stored on the suspect’s devices originated from outside of Thailand and involved very young victims. Our Rescue plans to support law enforcement teams on the case as they continue their work to bring justice for those survivors.

As devastating as cases like these are, the reality is that one more child will go to sleep tonight free from sexual exploitation that might otherwise have continued without intervention. Your generous donations help make rescue operations like this possible. Please give today to help continue our mission and bring more children to safety.
