In Chile, a 34-year-old security guard was suspected of using online spaces to target and exploit children, leveraging access to social media to harass and coerce minors into producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Following the discovery of these alleged crimes, Chile’s Investigative Police (Policía de Investigaciones de Chile, PDI) launched Operation Mantarraya with support from Our Rescue to identify and apprehend the suspect.

On December 18, 2025, the operation was carried out in Chile’s Metropolitan Region. During the operation, the 34-year-old suspect was arrested for crimes related to CSAM.

A mobile device belonging to the suspect was examined on site, where investigators identified a significant quantity of CSAM, establishing the flagrant crime of possession and/or distribution of such material.

Our Rescue Mission LATAM Chile participated in the operation by providing technical assistance and logistical support directly to PDI agents on site. Beyond on-the-ground support, Our Rescue continues to assist PDI investigations through open-source intelligence (OSINT) facial recognition software, strengthening ongoing investigative efforts.

At the center of this operation there were real children facing real-time sexual exploitation. Protecting them from further harm is why our work continues. When you support Our Rescue, you support operations like this to help stop predators and give children hope.
