During the week of December 8, 2025, Our Rescue supported the Malta Police Force Cyber Crime Unit as they carried out an operation targeting perpetrators of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), following referrals from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The operation focused on identifying and disrupting online exploitation activity. As part of the investigative work, one suspect was arrested. Officers also seized 14 electronic devices, including laptops, mobile phones, and flash drives. Forensic analysis of the seized devices remains ongoing, alongside additional investigative efforts.
Our Rescue supported the operation through on-site assistance and by providing advanced forensic tools designed to strengthen digital investigations. These resources expanded the Cyber Crime Unit’s capacity to identify, analyze, and pursue CSAM-related offenses with greater efficiency and precision.
Cyber Crime Unit Superintendent Anna-Marie Xuereb was present as additional forensic tools provided by Our Rescue were delivered. Superintendent Xuereb expressed her sincere appreciation for continued collaboration and technical support, emphasizing the value of equipping investigators with specialized resources to meet the evolving challenges of online exploitation.
Online child exploitation is rapidly growing in scale and complexity, driven by the rapid expansion of digital platforms and technologies. CSAM is not abstract—it documents real sexual abuse to real children, with lasting consequences. Fighting this crime takes everyone together.
Our Rescue is grateful for the partnership with the Malta Police Force Cyber Crime Unit and for the dedicated work of investigators who continue to pursue accountability and safeguard children.
