In April 2026, Our Rescue supported Spanish law enforcement as they planned and prepared for an urgent operation with the goal of dismantling a criminal network that had been trafficking vulnerable women into the country. This was a joint effort involving the National Police of Spain, the National Police of Colombia, and INTERPOL, with Our Rescue teams providing on-the-ground support.

On April 21, police officers executed multiple search and arrest warrants at the suspects’ locations in Spain. During the investigation they identified and assisted eight Colombian women who had been trafficked across the Atlantic. Police arrested seven individuals connected to this trafficking network who are facing a long list of charges including  human trafficking, prostitution, participation in a criminal organization, offenses against the rights of foreign citizens, threats to public safety, money laundering, and possession of fraudulent documents.

After shutting down the network’s human trafficking channels, authorities froze their bank accounts in Spain and, working with the Colombian officials, assets were seized internationally. During the operation, officers seized narcotics, cocaine, and tusi (a recreational drug that includes various psychoactive ingredients), along with €11,000 in cash.

On scene, officers identified a fraudulent passport containing a substituted photo page. Using specialized field kits provided by Our Rescue, officers were able to detect this altered document—something they stated would not have been possible otherwise. These tools helped authorities discover additional evidence tied to the network’s operations and the expanded scope of the investigation.

Our Rescue was honored to support this effort, providing logistical assistance and equipment, which helped law enforcement teams move more efficiently across borders and reduce the challenges of coordinating across multiple countries.

Thanks to the generous support from donors, Our Rescue helped strengthen coordination across countries, accelerating the pace of the operation and helping police act quickly and decisively. This complex, collaborative effort helped bring the survivors home and put the perpetrators of these crimes behind bars.

Again, your donation helps Our Rescue provide essential tools, training, equipment, access to survivor care, and on-the-ground support for operations like this. Please help empower these operations around the world by giving today.
