The grant will provide vital support to law enforcement in the fight against sex trafficking and child exploitation

Salt Lake City, Utah – October 7, 2024 – OUR Rescue, a global nonprofit on a mission to end sex trafficking and child exploitation worldwide, today announced a transformative $75,000 grant provided by the Foxwynd Foundation to fund the training, placement, and deployment of three Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9s. These highly trained dogs will enhance law enforcement capabilities in detecting hidden electronic storage devices used to commit human trafficking and digital crimes. OUR Rescue-supported ESD K9s are proven to help locate crucial evidence, leading to more successful prosecutions of traffickers and predators.

“OUR Rescue is profoundly grateful to the Foxwynd Foundation for helping us to empower law enforcement agencies who are in critical need of additional tools and resources,” said Tammy Lee, OUR Rescue CEO. “The ESD K9s funded through this grant will provide more protection for minors and more resources for authorities as they work to identify and apprehend predators. As we collectively work toward a safer future, this grant will have positive impacts for years to come.”

Each ESD K9 is expected to conduct around 11 successful searches per year, resulting in the rescue of at least two trafficking survivors and the arrest of eight predators annually. These ESD K9s will also provide therapy support for law enforcement and survivors of human trafficking.

To further amplify the impacts of this wonderful grant, OUR Rescue has launched a strategic challenge campaign to raise an additional $75,000. These funds will support the training and deployment of three additional ESD K9s, doubling the project’s impact and bringing the total number of ESD K9s placed with law enforcement agencies to six.

“The Foxwynd Foundation is proud to support the consequential work being done by OUR Rescue. We share a common goal with this esteemed organization, and that is a commitment to humanitarian causes,” said Pamela Villagra, Foxwynd Foundation Executive Director. “We are confident in OUR Rescue’s ability to change lives through this grant.”
