Every survivor’s story is different, but they share one thing in common: someone refused to give up on them. That’s the spirit Our Rescue brings to this fight, and it’s the same spirit that filled the room at Thailand’s National Anti-Human Trafficking Day 2026. At Our Rescue, we know that lasting change is built through strong partnerships, dedicated teams, and individuals who refuse to stop fighting for those affected by human trafficking.
That commitment was on full display as Our Rescue Thailand participated in Thailand’s National Anti-Human Trafficking Day 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. This year’s event was especially significant, marking Our Rescue Thailand’s third consecutive year participating in this important national gathering. Held under the theme, “Together We Can Stop Human Trafficking,” the event united government leaders, civil society organizations, international organizations, diplomatic missions, and community partners around a shared mission: protecting vulnerable people and strengthening the fight against human trafficking.
Our Rescue Thailand was proud to contribute through an interactive educational booth that engaged attendees in conversations about human trafficking and the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC). By creating opportunities to learn, ask questions, and better understand the realities of exploitation, our team helped equip community members with practical knowledge to recognize warning signs, respond appropriately, and play a role in prevention.
We were also happy to have Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K9 Winner join us to be able to showcase the impact these K9s have on the fight against human trafficking and child exploitation.
These moments of education matter. Every conversation helps build more informed communities, strengthens local partnerships, and moves us one step closer to a future where exploitation has fewer places to hide. We are incredibly proud of the Our Rescue Thailand team for representing our mission with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication throughout the event.
Recognizing Shabs Mortazavi
One of the day’s greatest honors came when Our Rescue Thailand’s Senior Director of Survivor Care, Shabs Mortazavi, was recognized as an Outstanding Individual for her exceptional dedication to combating human trafficking and supporting survivors.
This recognition reflects years of steadfast leadership and a deep commitment to ensuring survivors receive the care, dignity, and support they deserve as they rebuild their lives. Shabs has been instrumental in strengthening survivor care initiatives and advancing collaborative efforts that prioritize long-term healing alongside justice.
While this award celebrates one remarkable leader, it also represents the collective impact of the many professionals, partners, and advocates who work tirelessly every day to support survivors and prevent exploitation. We are honored to celebrate Shabs’ achievement and grateful for the example she sets through her compassion, expertise, and service.
As we reflect on another year of participation in Thailand’s National Anti-Human Trafficking Day, we are reminded that meaningful progress happens when organizations, governments, and communities come together with a shared purpose. We are proud of the Our Rescue Thailand team, thankful for our trusted partners, and inspired to continue working toward a world where every person can live free from exploitation.
