In the Huaycán district of Lima, Peru, one child, the niece of an adult male predator, was being sexually abused and exploited behind closed doors.
In the city of Huancayo, based in the Junin region, miles away, another two minor-age children, family cousins to that same perpetrator, lived separate lives but faced the same abuse at the hands of the same man.
Peruvian investigators would soon connect both.
In late 2025, multiple CyberTipline reports submitted by Google through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to host nation authorities identified a suspect as possessing and producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Authorities in Peru began reviewing these reports, opening files, analyzing the data, and tracing the activity back to one individual. The evidence pointed clearly to the ongoing abuse of three minor-age victims.
In December, Our Rescue played a critical role in supporting both the operational response and the humanitarian needs arising from the intervention. Law enforcement teams coordinated two simultaneous law enforcement operations in both locations, entered the respective residences tied to the investigation, secured the crime scenes, and immediately began collecting evidence.
In Huancayo, a team of host nation investigators identified two children who were the cousins of the predator and ensured their immediate safety and security.
In Huaycán, in the region of Lima, authorities had arrested a suspect and removed another minor-age child from the situation where they were being sexually abused and harmed. A total of three minor-age victims were rescued and are on the road to recovery.
As investigators examined the evidence, the pattern became clear. The suspect leveraged his familiarity and access to reach the children. He relied on proximity and family relations, using spaces that should have been safe and turning them into places where harm could continue.
During the operation, investigators recovered multiple devices containing CSAM, confirming the scope of the case and the ongoing nature of the abuse. Our Rescue is continuing to work with authorities to help them identify any further children in need in the recovered materials.
After the arrest happened and the children were identified, the reality of it set in for the families. Everything changed in a matter of hours. Confusion, shock, and grief surfaced all at once. Our Rescue’s Survivor Care presence ensured trauma-based support, emotional stabilization, and compassionate accompaniment at a moment of profound distress.
The victim and family members were then taken to Lima, Peru where they received specialized support such as medical and psychological evaluations. Our Rescue teams worked alongside host nation authorities and local professionals to ensure the children and their families were not left to process the moment alone.
Behind the scenes, coordination made every step possible. Investigators, prosecutors, and law enforcement worked across geographical regions to carry out this sensitive operation. Our Rescue support allowed critical teams to travel where they were needed and continue their work without interruption. As the situation unfolded, law enforcement teams were able to respond in real time to both the investigation and the needs of the children.
But cases like this are still happening. Children are still waiting to be reached. Your support helps make these operations possible; from the moment an investigation begins to the care children receive afterward. Donate today to help rescue more children in urgent need.
