In two separate cases in South Georgia, law enforcement agencies utilized digital forensic equipment donated by Our Rescue to investigate and arrest men accused of sexual crimes against minors.
The first case involved a former teacher and coach in the Lowndes County School System. Earlier this year, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Derrick Yarbrough had sexually assaulted a student, beginning the summer before the child entered 9th grade and continuing through their senior year. Following a thorough investigation, that included the use of digital forensics donated by Our Rescue, Yarbrough was arrested in June, on multiple charges, including child molestation, improper sexual contact by a person in a position of trust, and sodomy.
In a separate investigation, a man in South Georgia was running a funeral home without the proper credentials. Authorities executed a search warrant and seized several electronic devices, which were analyzed by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office using Our Rescue’s donated digital forensics technology. Investigators allegedly discovered child sexual abuse material (CSAM) among the seized materials. In July, Henderson was arrested without incident and is facing charges including two counts of felony computer pornography, two counts of felony enticing a child for indecent purposes, one count of felony child molestation, two counts of felony aggravated sexual battery, one count of felony trafficking of persons for labor or sexual servitude, and one misdemeanor count of engaging in a funeral business without required compliance.
In both cases, the use of advanced digital forensic tools proved critical in uncovering evidence and advancing investigations. At Our Rescue, we are proud to offer support to law enforcement through our ICAC Connect program, which provides targeted, practical support to help agencies do what they do best: protect children.
Designed to support North American Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces, this program provides advanced investigative tools, data analytics, ICAC Officer Training Scholarships, and community-driven funding to combat online child exploitation, particularly CSAM.
