A powerful U.S. partnership in Memphis is turning ashes into hope as a new safe home is built where survivors and their children can begin again.

Earlier this year, Our Rescue joined We Fight Monsters in a partnership to help raise a new shelter home for survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation. Today, that vision is becoming reality as construction begins on what will soon be known as a “Sparrow House.”

“At Our Rescue, we’re honored to support this project because we know that rescue is only the first step,” says Our Rescue CEO Derek Benner. “The women and children who will come through the doors of this new safe home are already showing immense strength by choosing to fight for something better for themselves. We’re proud to help create this space where they can heal and rebuild, shoulder to shoulder with We Fight Monsters.”

Sparrow House will be the second recovery home for women AND children fully owned and operated by We Fight Monsters, and it’s designed to give survivors and their children a place to heal together. Once complete, the four-bedroom, two-bath home will provide space for up to four women and their children at a time. Each survivor will have the chance to go through healing and therapy in a safe, supportive environment focused on helping them grow toward self-sufficiency and long-term stability.

Work has already begun onsite, with crews preparing the property for the next phase of construction. As final permits clear, construction crews will begin laying the cement foundation and framing, marking a major milestone for the project. What was once a vacant lot, left empty after a fire, is being transformed into a future home filled with hope and purpose.

Our Rescue is subsidizing a portion of the project’s total cost and providing survivor care expertise as part of this partnership. We Fight Monsters continues to lead the build and will operate the home once it opens, overseeing programs, recovery steps, and ongoing care for residents.

“When these women move in, they move into a family — and it stays that way,” says Ben Owen, co-founder of We Fight Monsters. “Even after they graduate out, they never really leave our ecosystem.”

That long-term community is part of what makes Sparrow House so unique. Graduates stay connected, creating an ongoing community of healing that multiplies impact far beyond one home.

The goal is to open Sparrow House by Valentine’s Day 2026, a powerful symbol for the community.

This project continues the shared mission between Our Rescue and We Fight Monsters to restore dignity and opportunity for survivors in the U.S. Together, both teams are helping turn a construction site into a symbol of renewal, and prove that hope can be built, one foundation at a time.
