On Giving Tuesday, our community of donors stepped up to help make something critical possible: coordinated Interstate Justice Coalition (IJC) operations designed to strengthen cross-jurisdictional collaboration and improve survivor-centered response. IJC is a unique partnership comprised of Our Rescue, Skull Games Solutions, We Fight Monsters, and Operation Light Shine that unifies each organization’s specialized capabilities to support law enforcement, survivor care agencies, and communities within the United States in the fight against sex trafficking. In the last few weeks, IJC, powered by Our Rescue donors, helped support coordinated operations across Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas.
Operation One: Norman, Oklahoma
Two weeks ago, an Advanced Human Trafficking Training in Norman, Oklahoma moved swiftly from classroom to field. As training concluded, participating agencies transitioned directly into operational deployment – putting investigative strategies and survivor-centered response practices introduced during training into real time action.
Results from the Norman operation included:
- 7 sex buyers arrested
- 3 survivors of trafficking recovered and connected with services
- 2 likely traffickers identified and under further investigation
At the same time, a parallel joint operation was conducted in Roland, Oklahoma, led by local and Tribal partners working in coordination with prosecutors and survivor service providers.
The focus of this operation centered on identifying vulnerable children and ensuring immediate protective intervention.
Results from the Roland operation included:
- 4 vulnerable children under the age of 10 located and connected to appropriate child protection services
Operation Two: Alabama and Texas
Last week, IJC partners expanded efforts through surge operations in Alabama and Texas, bringing together local and state law enforcement with nonprofit partners Our Rescue, Skull Games Solutions and also including The Little Tree Project.
These coordinated efforts targeted exploitation networks operating across state lines and reinforced the importance of survivor identification and long-term support.
Results from the Alabama and Texas operations included:
- 13 exploiters arrested, including 2 seeking children
- 6 survivors of trafficking recovered and connected with services
- An additional 6 survivors identified for future operational response
- 3 traffickers identified, arrested, or under active investigation
Why Coordination Matters
Exploitation-related crimes often cross jurisdictions and operate in everyday environments, making coordination essential. The Interstate Justice Coalition exists to strengthen coordination across jurisdictions by aligning training, operational support, and survivor services. By connecting agencies before, during, and after operations, the IJC model ensures that efforts are not isolated moments—but part of a sustained, survivor-centered strategy.
Our Rescue is a core partner within the Interstate Justice Coalition. Through this model, Our Rescue contributes to advanced training, operational coordination, and survivor service partnerships—helping ensure collaborative efforts are sustained and effective anywhere.
