Jim Cole
Jim Cole brings nearly 37 years of experience in government and law enforcement to Our Rescue. A retired Supervisory Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations, Jim founded the agency’s first Victim Identification Program and Laboratory at the HSI Cyber Crimes Center. His work helped build systems that have identified and rescued thousands of children worldwide and shaped modern victim identification practices used by law enforcement today.
Jim is widely recognized as a global leader in child exploitation investigations, digital forensics, and technology-enabled victim identification. He co-founded Project VIC, now used by thousands of investigators across dozens of countries, and has served as Chair of the INTERPOL Specialists Group on Crimes Against Children.
At Our Rescue, Jim focuses on strengthening partnerships with law enforcement, advancing technology-driven child protection strategies, and ensuring investigators have the tools, training, and coordinated support needed to identify victims faster and protect vulnerable children.
