In October 2025, the Our Rescue LATAM team in Chile, participated in the 8th International Cybersecurity Seminar organized by the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI).
The event brought together experts and representatives from the academic, law enforcement, military, technological, and private sectors to address current challenges in cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime in Chile and around the world.
During both days, Our Rescue engaged with attendees at our highly attended booth. Drawing a large number of visitors, including those from the PDI, Carabineros of Chile, the Armed Forces, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, technology companies, and civilians in attendance. Our team was grateful to find that participants showed great interest in learning about our work in Chile and globally, especially regarding our cooperation with law enforcement agencies and our support for survivors.

One of the highlights of the seminar was the presentation delivered by Country Director, Miguel Salazar, who was invited as a guest speaker. His talk reached an audience of nearly 1,500 people, both in person and online. He spoke about the work of Our Rescue in Chile, in the region and globally to combat human trafficking and child exploitation and the importance of partnerships with law enforcement to help identify and rescue survivors and to provide the care they so desperately need. He also shared about the work of our ESD K9 Samai in Chile and extending out to other countries in the region.
A key part of his presentation was providing prevention strategies for parents participating in the conference, including several resources to help report cases of child sexual abuse material, including our Start Talking Guide, and invited participants to Join The Fight by singing the pledge.

His presentation highlighted the professional and specialized work carried out by the PDI Cybercrime Investigation Brigade, publicly recognizing their commitment and leadership in the fight against crime in digital environments.
We are looking forward to the new opportunities for interagency collaboration and continuing to strengthen ties with key areas of the PDI as a result of our participation in this event.
At Our Rescue we know that we are stronger when we work together. Events like the PDI International Cybersecurity Seminar creates collaborative pathways to strengthen the ties between organizations fighting human trafficking and child exploitation.
