The O.U.R. Ops team has been supporting local Thai law enforcement in multiple operations by assisting in arresting offenders and rescuing survivors.
OPERATION CCIB: A newly formed Thai law enforcement team reached out to the O.U.R. Ops Team requesting support on an active human trafficking operation, and the Ops Team was able to identify the suspect and help arrange an undercover operation. The female suspect was arrested and charged with human trafficking related criminal charges and the 16-year-old survivor was provided with aftercare services by the O.U.R. Aftercare Team.
OPERATION M: The O.U.R. Ops team supported the DoPA and ATPD in an undercover operation for an online chat group that was facilitating the sexual exploitation of minors. The O.U.R. Ops Team successfully helped free four survivors ages 13-17, and law enforcement arrested one adult Thai male.
OPERATION SLEEPLESS: The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD) within the Royal Thai Police asked for help from O.U.R. to track down traffickers online after a 16-year-old survivor was identified. The ATPD also identified and rescued two additional survivors, ages 14 and 17, after interviewing the original survivor. The survivors are at separate shelters for survivors of human trafficking as they receive aftercare services. O.U.R.’s Aftercare team will be traveling to meet the survivors and offer additional support.
The original suspect, a 24-year-old Thai female, has been located and arrested for human trafficking. Her boyfriend was also arrested, who was charged with human trafficking offenses, as his bank account was used to receive and distribute funds related to the alleged human trafficking activities.
OPERATION MIKMIK: O.U.R. assisted the Thai Police’s Department of Special Investigation in arresting an Israeli man for possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) found on his computer. The man was arrested in a Thailand hotel room, for human trafficking related offenses, after the Isreal embassy requested an investigation. The offender was sent to a local police station for legal proceedings.
OPERATION GAGA: An adult Thai male was arrested by the Royal Thai Police Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division, for posting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to his Twitter account. Upon the arrest, a cellular phone was seized, and the ATPD requested O.U.R.’s Ops team to forensically process the device. Although the suspect said he deleted all evidence, O.U.R.’s digital forensic analysts recovered the CSAM material.
Following the full forensic examination and the ATPD’s interview of the target, it was determined that multiple criminal charges related to child sexual assault and CSAM production/distribution would be filed. The ATPD is working on identifying and contacting all survivors involved.
OPERATION GULF: In April, O.U.R. joined with the ATPD personnel for an arrest and rescue operation. O.U.R. Ops team made contact with the suspected trafficker and waited at a predetermined location for the provider to drop off the survivors. Once the payment was complete and the survivors arrived, ATPD investigators arrested the provider and helped free the 16-year-old female survivors. Both survivors are currently receiving aftercare services and the O.U.R. Aftercare team is currently working to assist in additional support.
