The Jobs for American Graduates program at a local Nevada high school held a fundraiser for Operation Underground Railroad to spread awareness and help students learn about the cause.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force ran an operation with over 30 law enforcement agencies that resulted in numerous arrests. In just one part of the operation, 24 men showed up to a house with the intent of exploiting underage boys and girls.
A man in Arizona was sentenced to over 300 years for trafficking a 15-year-old girl. “Today’s sentencing is the result of the work by investigators and our prosecutors to ensure a defendant who made a living by preying on these young victims is never able to do this again,” said Maricopa County Attorney Chief Deputy Rachel Mitchell.
The second annual “Rock the Boat Against Sex Trafficking” was held on Lake Michigan last week to spread awareness and raise money to help survivors of human trafficking. Supporters of the fundraiser boarded “The Odyssey” for a three-hour boat tour around the lake.
