Several tech experts volunteered their time last weekend to help improve Spotlight, a child sex trafficking database available to U.S. law enforcement. Spotlight is run by Thorn, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore’s foundation.
A 30-year-old man in Missouri was arrested for possession of child pornography. When law enforcement entered his home, they also found that he had inappropriate contact with at least one child over the internet.
A woman from Wisconsin was arrested for child trafficking. She had traveled with the 16-year-old victim all across Iowa, stayed in motels along the way, and posted ads of the girl online.
Actor Will Smith’s wife, Jada, spoke at a luncheon in Dallas this weekend to spread awareness about human trafficking. “My daughter Willow was actually the one who told me about sex trafficking. She was only 11 at the time. I didn’t even believe it,” Pinkett Smith said.
