Washington, D.C.—Today, Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) hosted a briefing in which Operation Underground Railroad CEO Tim Ballard delivered a special presentation on human trafficking to a bipartisan group of senators and special advisor to the President Ivanka Trump. During the briefing, Ballard discussed the importance of Senator Hatch’s legislation, which creates a public-private partnership advisory council to allow groups like Utah’s Operation Underground Railroad to leverage government resources to fight human trafficking around the world. The group had the opportunity to hear from a former victim of trafficking who is now working with Operation Underground Railroad to help others.

At Senator Hatch’s invitation, Senator Hatch, Tim, and Ivanka Trump were joined by a bipartisan group of Senators including Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Rob Portman (R-OH), a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and Foreign Relations Committee, Joni Ernst (R-IA), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Chris Coons (D-DE), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
