For Profit CrossFit for Non-Profit O.U.R.

For Profit CrossFit for Non-Profit O.U.R.

Who, in their right mind, would ask you to start a business for them that would compete against your own business? Well, that’s exactly what happened to CrossFit Franchise Owner and Coach Drew Rykert and the crazy thing is, he said yes!

“There’s no competition when it comes to the kids,” Rykert said. Of course, he’s talking about how Operation Underground Railroad rescues children from sex trafficking and enslavement.

O.U.R. is creating the FOR-profit CrossFit gym in Draper, Utah to help support the NON-profit O.U.R. administrative costs. That way more of each donation to O.U.R. can go directly to help fund missions and recovery care of victims. Many generous partners have assisted in supporting the gym as a means of consistent revenue: WODOmation, brUTE, WORKT, Bam Bams BBQ, HYLETE, Kill Cliff, and CrossFit.

O.U.R. Founder and CEO Tim Ballard along with various Jump Team members often worked out at Rykert’s CrossFit Gym, but will now have a gym of their own, and the beautiful part is anyone can come and join the gym, work out with and be trained beside our Jump Team members, and help enslaved children as well. It’s really a win/win/win situation. And don’t worry about Rykert. He’s actually managing the O.U.R. gym now as well as coaching and training others.

The Grand Opening of the O.U.R. CrossFit gym is September 11th and 12th but you can sign up right now at CROSSFITOUR.COM. You can even try it out free before signing up during the first eleven days of September.

Child Prostitute Rescued by “Client” : O.U.R. and CrossFit Unite To Help Children Like Her

Karla never had a chance. At age 12 she was put out on the streets where she fell victim to a professional pimp. She was coerced, threatened, beaten and sexually violated for four years until one of her clients decided to help her escape.

Karla is one of the “lucky” ones because she got out, but there are thousands still living this nightmare. You can read her story by clicking here. http://ourthrowdown.com/one-voice/

Her life and the lives of others like her inspired CrossFit Games elite athlete, Tommy Hackenbruck to host the SlaveStealer Throwdown last November to benefit Operation Underground Railroad.

That success has turned into an annual event. This year CrossFit’s Chief Marketing Officer Jimi Letchford, is partnering with Operation Underground Railroad to host the second annual O.U.R. Throwdown in California. Gyms all around the world have signed up to participate virtually on October 3rd.

Elite athletes will participate in a fundraising exhibition in California while additional special seminars and events will be held in several locations around the world. Last year’s athletes included Matthew Fraser, Rich Froning, Tommy Hackenbruck, and Lindsey Valenzuela, just to name a few.

But, this is more than just an exhibition; it’s a contest, with CrossFit Gyms competing against each other. The gym with the most registered participants will win a seminar with a well-known athlete. Other prizes will be given to randomly selected registered participants.

And the best part is that all proceeds from this event go directly to O.U.R. mission operations and recovery programs for rescued victims. O.U.R has rescued over 300 victims of sex slavery in its first year and a half and as amazing as that is, there are literally thousands more that need O.U.R.’s help, your help.
