Marisol Nichols is a social activist, actress, and friend of Tim Ballard and Mark Mabry. In this episode of the Slave Stealer, Tim, Mark, and Marisol discuss the big questions,
Why aren’t more people talking about child trafficking?
Who is benefitting from keeping people enslaved?
Why aren’t our presidential candidates talking about this?
Marisol, who has appeared on shows such as 24, NCIS, and Criminal Minds, asks, “Why aren’t there riots on the streets? It should be on the tip of everyone’s tongue. And I believe that if [it was], it would end it fast.”
Marisol Nichols had the opportunity to go undercover on an operation with O.U.R. She used one word to describe her experience: haunting. Tim said she was perfect for the job because she is an actor, and many times it is hard to find undercover operatives that are good at acting the part.
In this episode, Marisol, Tim, and Mark talk about the laws against trafficking, the grassroots movement that is forming against trafficking, and also the roadblocks that keep it from progressing faster. Marisol blames the people that are in charge of our entertainment. She also discusses her ideas for more effective laws to prosecute traffickers because, “Right now there is no consequence. They walk free.”
