Operation Rhino Fist

Operation Rhino Fist

Three Rescued – Three Arrested

Moments leading up to the operation are tense. There is always an amount of uncertainty that comes with any sting. On this rescue in Mumbai, India some Jump Team members are outfitted with hidden cameras in their backpacks, watches or fanny packs, not only to capture the “take-down” for Operation Underground Railroad, but to be used later on when prosecuting the pimps.

Every movement of the operation is planned and executed precisely. Jump Team members nonchalantly walk into the hotel lobby and spot the victims in the lounge nearby. They are at the table closest to the exit trying to look like a normal family but they aren’t fooling O.U.R. or our NGO partner, James, with the Indian Rescue Mission. There are six of them; three minor girls, the pimp who brokered the deal, dressed head to toe in a black burke with only a slit for her eyes, and another woman and a man who are accompanying her.

This undercover operation all began when James from IRM put word out on the street that he was expecting some friends from out of town for a visit and wanted to show them a good time. Eventually, he was approached by a pimp who showed him a number of photographs of women, however, James told the pimp that he was looking for something more “exotic” or “fresher.” The pimps were easily able to fill that order providing some of the youngest girls in their control.

The take down comes soon after spotting the “family” in the hotel lounge. James walks over to them and starts a conversation. Soon after, law enforcement closes in, arresting the pimps and rescuing the three minor girls who are taken into the care of social services. They are treated as victims rather than prostitutes and are under their protection.

There are no updates on the girls at this time as social services is keeping them away from the public, however, O.U.R. is working with other entities to ensure these girls get an education and develop employable skills so that they will not be vulnerable to human traffickers again.

The real surprise in this operation, however, came with the discovery that the arrested male pimp was, in fact, an Executive Officer for the Anti Corruption Intelligence Committee. No one anticipated this but it has certainly opened up the investigation into corruption as well as human trafficking in Mumbai. And that’s a win/win for O.U.R. and its partners.

  1. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

    1. Keith thank you for sharing! Ironically we went through that same verse two Sundays ago at church. This has my attention for sure! God bless you Keith!

    2. I saw your movie on Monday. I was not sure why the Holy Spirit was moving me to go. But afterwards I now see. Working with children all my life to reach them for God, He must have a something for me to do. I have been in prayer and joined by others to see how God is leading us to assist your mission.

  2. Hi my name is George and I would love to be able to help rescue victims of these evil people. I live in the U.S. and there are so many people who disappear from our towns, streets and alleys. If I can help rescue or save just one, please let me know.

    1. George,

Thank you so much for your offer to help. We need everyone involved to help eradicate this plague. Everyone has a unique talent that they can share. Obviously, our biggest need is resources. Become an Abolitionist if you haven’t already. That helps support our Jump Teams in all they are doing. Spreading the word about O.U.R. and the work we are doing is another great way to help. People can’t help if they don’t know what’s going on. And become a fundraiser yourself. Many have organized events to raise awareness and financial support. You can find more information about how to do this on our web site at OURrescue.org. Our Jump Teams are highly trained and uniquely qualified to investigate and rescue these children who are being trafficked. That may not be your talent, but there are many ways to help the cause. Thank you for your support of O.U.R.

    2. George,
We love your enthusiasm! If you’re not already, please consider being an abolitionist. For just $5 a month you can make a huge difference in helping us to rescue these victims of sex trafficking. There are many other suggestions for ways to help on our web site at ourrescue.org as well. Thank you!

  3. So disturbing to see the evidence of such hideous corruption. CONGRATS O.U.R. for such a successful mission. i am pleased to be helping support this…honored to be helping.

    1. I have lived in India for several years until recently. This type of corruption is rampant in India. Usually the police are involved whereby the pimps just pay them off and the police will not bother them and will even warn them if there is some sort of investigation going on.

  4. I am curious and reading through your website. In the sting operation mentioned above your aim was to rescue juveniles. How do you provide escape for any women that wants to leave this slavery?

    1. Rosemarie,

Thank you for your concern about the people we rescue. They are all provided with rehabilitation whether they are a minor or not. For adults who wish to leave this life we partner with other organizations to help teach them a skill and get them on their feet. All are provided that opportunity. Unfortunately, not all take advantage of it. Your support helps make this possible. Thank you!

    2. Rosemarie,

Thank you for your question. When we conduct a rescue, we do not always know the ages of the victims. When we find people being trafficked, we go in and rescue them. It is often not until after the operation that we learn their ages. At that point adult and minor victims are treated differently, however, they are all rescued regardless of age and placed in programs to help them become valued members of society. Our focus is children, but we help all victims of human trafficking and make sure the perpetrators are prosecuted.

  5. I would like to supoort this worthy cause.I was a teenage runaway in the 80’s.I was very naive and took rides feom strangers.I could have been victimized like many of those out there. My friend And I had one incident very close to what is happening.Luckily we escaped.
My family member volunteers with your organization and I am very proud of him.

  6. I’m just a cop in Alabama and an old logistics Marine, but if you ever catch a case or need any help down this way let me know. I work with juveniles now and know what you do is needed.

  7. I’m so happy to hear that an organization such as yours exists. I can’t imagine how human beings could be treated as property and enslaved into such horrid conditions. I have skills that may be useful as part of your Jump Teams. I would love to help.

  8. Well guys, I was a combat medic with 82nd Airborne Division and know infantry tactics quite well. I was also in a sniper section my second tour and have 3 daughters of my own. I would love to be on a jump team and soon enough I start work and can provide funding. I’m a leader and a great follower, I would enjoy nothing more than to remain taking down the scum of the earth. He who walks with God has light feet- Airborne ATW H-minus

  9. I stand and applaud your efforts, but the governments you hand over the victims to are the same governments who promote the industry.

  10. I have been praying for God to show me what it is that He wants me do for him.

The invitation came to see your movie.

It is clear. I’m inspired beyond belief. Now I undestand why God has trained me the way He had.

I’m Sprite ally, mentally and physically ready for the next step.

Right now, I’m at a point in my life to pick up and start the journey that He has blueprinted for me.

So the question is, how do I get started?

    In God’s hands..

PS. There is no such thing as a coincidence.

  11. When I became a nurse 16 years ago it wasn’t what I wanted. It cane out of a necessity to support my family in a field always in need.
Tonight after seeing the Abolitionists I know down the core of my soul why I am still a nurse.
At this point in my life I am tied down to where I am and what I’m doing. My husband had two terminal diagnosed. He would gladly follow me to the end of the earth, but I could never take him away from the excellent medical care and family support we have here. One day though, when I am no longer needed as his caregiver, I can put the 12 years as a pediatric nurse to good use(I am no longer a pediatric nurse, as much as I loved working with children I had to leave for better days, hours, and benefits that would fit with my families needs).
When you portrayed the orphanage my heart knew that is where I need to be. Until the time I can respond to my heart and soul I will love and care for my husband, and support your organization behind the scenes.

  12. Loved the film this past Monday! Appreciate your work.

Our filmgoing party of three discussed this film afterwards and one of our group said he felt the MAJOR solution to solving sex trafficking is to go after the johns.

    What say you?

  13. I am a retired contractor and travel and live overseas about half the time … is it possible I could help you on the Jump Teams or do you have plenty of volunteers already ?
